#1. My first word on Sunday Morning was "Paramore."
Straight jumped out of bed, ran into the shower and got out like a zombie with 4 hours of sleep. My muscles were killing me thanks to work the night before. And yes, I finished work at 2am ish. Got ready, woke Anna up feeling like it was Christmas morning ALL over again. I was SO excited. Played Paramore's music NON-STOP on the PC and on my iPod from her house, till we left, all the way till back home, to Bugis and finally back to Kallang's stadium. By the way, whichever shitfuck that said "you can walk to the Indoor Stadium from Kallang's train station," - Go fuck yourself kthx. I walked and it felt like I was walking for MILES under the HOT sun. By the time I reached I already had a tan line on my FACE.
#2. Will Hayley like the Bugs and Daffy I -finally- found at Action City?
Saw her tweet on twitter.com about Space Jam and how she wished it was all real. Bugs and Daffy, that is. So I decided to totally derail and jump off Anna's train and get her B&D instead. No offence darling, I thought the Lilo Doll was really cute, but I was afraid that it won't get noticed or appreciated.... not like ours got appreciated. Lol. Oh well...
Met up with Anna nearby and we headed over after bumping into Atika. She told me that the queue was freaking long.
#3. It wasn't freaking long. It was FUCKING long.
Felt like forever. And after looking at all the sea of faces I thought I'd never get in. Correction : Get in, but not get NEAR the stage. Which defeats the purpose of throwing Bugs and Daffy for Hayley, and the rest of the stuff for the band. :(
After deciding to queue like morons, I was almost getting cranky because my itouch was dying on me, and I had nothing else to entertain me. So just sat with Anna and waited. And waited. And waited. Listened to people's conversations and had personal opinions. Waited. Smoked. Talked. Stoned. Napped. When we finally made it through like 4 hours after SITTING down, people started their bull. Pushing, shoving, cutting queues, holding up the queue lines. We survived it all.
#4. Saw all sorts of people in ALL sorts of crazy Paramore merchandise and tshirts. I wanted one. :(
#5. The indoor stadium felt like a beautiful sight.
You could see the crowds coming in from EVERYWHERE! Places were getting filled, even in the standing pen. And... I lost Anna.
#6. Anna Anna Anna Anna Anna. Where are you..? I'm not gonna watch Paramore without you, man. You're the reason I'm here at all. WHERE ARE YOUUUUUUUUUU......... Grrrr.
And I heard her call for me from a couple of heads infront of me. So I made my way through the waves of people.
#7. Concert barely even started and people ALREADY started moshing, pushing and shoving. It was getting sweaty as hell, and people who thought it was a DAMN good idea to stand right in front of the speakers.. ha. Sure had another opinion when the music started.
#8. I held on tight to the beanies, Bugs and Daffy and kept calculating heads. It was TOO far for me from where I was. I knew that if I made the throw, I'd be unsuccessful and it would land somewhere in the audience. I could CLEARLY see the mic. But seeing is one thing. Making it happen is another.
#9. Lights off. MORE pushing. MORE shoving. Nigga damn these people.. it didn't matter if you were malay, indian, chinese, skinny, fat, gigantic, a girl or a guy. EVERYONE was shoving. EVERYONE was pushing. And it got SO bad that 2 ROWS of people in the pits FELL down. FELL.
Anna included. I'm so sorry darling. D:
#10. Opening band "Monochrome" started, and personally I thought the guitarists were good. The drummer was awesome.
Music was cool, just.. the vocals.. not really my thing. For a second it almost sounded like the 7th month singing I hear on an Annual basis. NOT INSULTING, but for real. They were good though, and kudos for courage to continue playing even after getting boo-ed off stage after their first song. Don't be disheartened. Keep believing, keep singing, and maybe one day you guys might be a hit.
#11. Girl behind me shouting "HEY I PAID $111.00 to see PARAMORE! Not you guys!"
Fuck off already, really. Show some respect to the OPENING band for Paramore. These guys have ALL the honor from the people you WANNA see, and you don't even show the respect they deserve. :/ How disgraceful..... I almost feel sad being a Singaporean.
#12. Opening band closes their last song. Stage gets set up for Paramore. Hayley's orange mic can be seen getting fixed up. "THE CARROT MIKE! THE CARROT MIKE!!!"
Yuuuup.
#13. Ignorance.
Need I EVEN say how awesome the intro is? Or the song? Or the most beautiful rockstar I've ever seen LIVE on stage? Or the handsome guitarists? Or the kickass drummer, Zac?
#14. Crush Crush Crush.
Favourite. Song. Ever. The energy from that song is crazy. Ignorance was insane. Crushcrushcrush was MAD hopping wild. I was getting dragged everywhere because people kept holding onto my haversack, but it was still awesome.
#15. ♫ Crush, crush, crush... CRUSH CRUSH! People were jumping everywhere. Hands were all up in the air. I wanted to throw the stuff, but I couldn't. I was SCARED to death it would land in the crowd.
That's what you get was next. EVERYONE started moshing and shit. I started asking myself if I was at a Linkin Park concert by mistake. But nope, PARAMORE banner was right across the stage. Jeremy was rocking out. Zac was slamming drums. Hayley's voice was one of angels and saints. Couldn't see Justin clearly.. or Taylor. :(
Jump, jump, jump. Was that someone humping me? What the fuc.. And someone had to step on my shoes. My poor, new, weinbrenners. MY TOES, YOU ASSHOLE! These events are serious. Next time, I gotta bring Kevlar and steel toe boots in. Freaking crazy ass people. If that's what a zombie horde is really like IRL, I'd prolly bring WWE to the Standing Pen.
#16. Hayley. Hair. Hayley. Hair. Hayley. Hair. Oooh! Jeremy going crazy again!! Hayley! Hair again. Goddammit. They got to have this... I didn't waste $35 for nothing. :(
Told Anna I was gonna go infront, so I made my way through the crowd. And apparently manners don't exist in the standing pen, so it's either DO or DIE. Moved as close as I could. From 20 heads, it got till 10. Someone fainted in front of the speakers. Guards pushed and shoved as they carried her out.
#17. The BASS from the speakers were enough to KILL, let alone the close up of the sight. I could really feel like someone was choking me and shaking my insides everywhere. My heart was pounding like a mad motherfucker.
More calculations. When to throw. If my arm could make the throw. Song ended and she started talking. I pushed myself WAY back, bumping people, and thought of moments in my life where I had to do a killer throw.
Shot Putt in P6 and got silver.
Netball in P6 and made the throw of the ball halfway across the court.
Captain's ball for church choir, won.
Cap's ball for youth tourny, silver.
Netball in sec 3. sec 4. sec 5.
Basketball with CH and Debal after graduation.
All those memories just played as I watched the beanie fly. And it made it across the horde and to the stage.
#18. I was ecstatic. Jubilant. It felt like GOLD. Jackpot.
And just as I was about to go YES! like a complete, total fucking moron, I grabbed hold of my composure. But believe me, when I saw Hayley TURN towards the beanie and say on mic : "someone gimme that."
I was bonkers.
I pushed and shoved my way back to Anna and just grabbed her face with both my hands and told her I did it. I felt like Captain Awesome or something. I can't describe the excitement I felt. Like I aced the test. I made it. I did it. I did what I came to do. ♫ It felt so good.....
#19. ♫ You are the only exception...
Everyone was singing along. I finally understood what Lady Gaga meant. (Quote from Lady Gaga's official FB page)
Isn't it interesting how one singing voice is (while subjective), either good or bad. But a CROWD of people singing, ALWAYS sounds beautiful
How true. Everyone singing "the only exception" just made me feel goosebumps. I felt like I was in wonderland. Like I was dreaming and didn't wanna wake up. I was happily singing, since I knew the words.. happens when you listen to the same track like 628546 times.
When Hayley sang the bridge ♫ I know you're leaving in the morning when you wake up, leave me with some kind of proof it's not a dream, whoaaaaa oh ohhhhhhhhh...
I just teared. Really. I felt so much emotion for that - IDK why, but I did. And I teared.
#20. This is the last song for tonight! cue : Decode.
It gave me chills. For real. I thought Twilight was the shizzam, I thought the music video was the shizzle, I thought Anna's acoustic version was godly, I thought the MP3 was indescribable.
Them singing it FUCKING live, is win. Period. No other band. Nothing else beats that.
I had SO much fun with that song, pushing away moshers, literally. People would mosh into me and push and shove and punch, and I would do it all back. When they started moshing into Anna and I saw how defenseless she was, I knew I had to step in. So I did.
Talk about being a personal bodyguard. Chehhh :D
#21. I could really go on.. but me shouting like a fucking loony
PARAMORE
PARAMORE
PARAMORE
PARAMORE
WE WANT MORE!
WE WANT MORE!
WE WANT MORE!
PARAMORE! WE WANT MORE! (Don't like that! Don't like that!)
And everyone around me started chanting... it was almost like what Anna and I were ALWAYS talking about. And I felt so fucking awesome being the one who started the chant to call them back out.
And they did come back out. MISERY BUSINESS and BRICK by BORING BRICK FTW!
More bastards moshing and shoving, but pushed them all backwards, till they fell. Or made an opening so they fell through, instead of knocking into us.
There were SO many epic moments. Even more FAIL ones.
21 is just not enough, and 100 is too much. And this post is already long enough. Hahaha.
All in all, PARAMORE fucking rocks. Hands down. Best rock concert I've ever BEEN to. And don't judge me, I've been to a few.
Wish I could blog more, but I'm seriously tired right now. 325am, and my muscles are screaming like bitches.
So, night guys! And heads up for Paramore stuff! If you see anything, feel free to lemme know. If you wanna know more about what my experience was like, call me or chat me up on MSN/FB/yahoo/wherever.
Have a great week :)
And special thanks again to Anna and Clarence. Paramore's concert experience wouldn't have been possible for me if not for you guys. <3
