The Ripped Soul

I took a smoke and felt the breeze. I could smell the rain. Looked down at the wet pavement under the creamy moonlight, and saw a puddle reflect the pretty evening light. All I could think about was you. The memories came rushing back like waters flowing from a broken dam. The cold, rainy nights. The warmth of your skin next to mine. Passion under the covers. Love under the sheets. When all that mattered was that moment. In a time and space when we were together, finally, at last.. alone. Away from work, away from family, away from people and society, away from friends, away from those that judged us. It was just you, me, love and a rainy night.

A drop of water fell on my hand and I remembered that afternoon at the Fort. Time went by so quick that day, and then it had to rain. Our time was cut short, you were upset and I was just lost between time and you. And it happened, like a spark over driftwood, blazing it to flames. That chemistry, that moment, that kiss.
