all i wanna say is that they don't really care about us..

You know when you have one of those days? When everything you thought couldn't get MORE wrong, just went wrong?

Cash float confusion.
Coin requisition.
Voiding thanks to stupid promos.
Voiding AGAIN thanks to wrong keys.
Schedule being a bitch.
Kenny.
People approving his unpaid leave ON A FUCKING WEEKEND.
...
Him STILL wanting to go on his leave EVEN after knowing what's the outlet's situation.
Replanning schedule to fit to everyone's liking. More OT, 10-6, unpaid leaves, off days on Wednesday....
Difficult customers....
Other outlets asking for my men when I'm already down by one.
Upp mgt saying they'll get back to me about my no.1.
Then calling and saying they are trying to get someone to cover me.
Swap for 2 guys.. then it doesn't work out.
They say they'll get back to me about it... but no calls?
Driver forgetting to collect sales.
STAFF forgetting to tell me that the driver is here.
Kitchen making the place their own.
Moving of the receipt printers to my navigator's confusion.
Not cleaning the floors right.
Not cleaning the outlet right at ALL.
My dishwasher wanting to go home at 11 on the dot when so many things were left unclean.
Phone battery flat while texting the bosses.

...

Sigh.

Funny how talking to Sam earlier about her shift over at Bedok and she was filling me in.. then she was telling me that she sat Kenny down and talked to him.

Asked him straight out, "Kat and Jess give you all the allowance. It's like this. They ask you to fill up the ketchup, but not too full. I ask you to fill up the ketchup to HALF. Yet, you listen to me, and not them! Why? If I were you, I'd listen to THEM, because they're giving you MORE allowance to fill to your discretion, as long as it's not too full. Whereas if you listen to me, if you fill it up MORE than half or LESS than half, you're gonna get scolded for doing it wrong!"

At first I thought she was slamming me for my mistake as a manager. To be firm and tell them what to do and all that.

I am just NOT the sort to tell someone what to do because I just have THAT much respect. I would try to tell nicely.. and if you fail to do it, I'll just do it myself, angry or not. I just get it done. I am the youngest in the outlet, probably one of the youngest managers or assistant managers.. with such crap experience. And you're asking me to tell other guys that probably worked here longer, or worked in the industry longer.. how to do their job?

Isn't that an insult? If I were them, I find that pretty insulting and disrespectful.

Then she said I'm the "whatever" kind of manager. I don't care what you do, as long as you don't screw up operations, follow the SOP and don't get me in shit.

Which basically spells me.

I have enough stress as it is, why should I give a shit stressing more about what you do or what you don't?

All I care about is operations, if it's running smooth, no hiccups - then why should I care if you want to smoke outside or read a paper? If you know your job and it gets done when it needs to be done, then I got nothing with you.

But screw me over and I'll try my best to make your shift hell too.

And about his unpaid leave, even Kitchen Kenny was shaking his head at it.

First, its a weekend. Saturday/Sunday.

Secondly, I HAVE NO STAFF ALREADY! I'm UNDER powered. Yet he insists on his FUCKING leave.

Thirdly, it's not like they don't know what happened to Kat. THEY DO. And shouldn't this be the time when they actually stick together and help each other out?

Nope....

One wants a 10-6, the other wants his unpaid leave, insisting that he bought the tickets already.

Guess its like what they say.. when God gives you lemons, make lemonade. Even though you want apple juice.

Fuck...
